Workshops
Teddy Bear Clinic
At our Teddy Bear Clinic, children can step into a world of playful learning, where their favorite stuffed animals become patients, and they become the caregivers. This interactive experience helps demystify medical procedures, reducing fear and anxiety while promoting healthy coping skills.
What Happens at the Teddy Bear Clinic?
Check-Ups & Diagnoses: Children role-play as doctors and nurses, giving their stuffed friends check-ups, using real medical tools in a kid-friendly way.
Medical Play Stations: Explore various medical scenarios, from applying bandages to listening with stethoscopes, all designed to familiarize children with medical environments.
Education & Empowerment: Through guided play, children learn about their bodies, medical procedures, and how to express their feelings, fostering resilience and understanding.
Why Participate?
Reduce Medical Anxiety: By making healthcare familiar and less intimidating, children gain confidence for real-life medical visits.
Encourage Emotional Expression: The clinic provides a safe space for children to explore and talk about their fears or questions related to health.
Promote Healthy Habits: Children learn the importance of healthcare and develop a positive association with medical care.
These take place 4 times a year. If you are an organization, school or business and would like to book a Teddy Bear Clinic at your location - please contact Jenn. 832-620-1548 redoakscoping@gmail.com
Sensory-Friendly Dental Clinic
We partner with Quest Pediatric Dentistry to provide this workshop.
We understand that a dental visit can be overwhelming for children, especially those with sensory sensitivities. That’s why our Sensory-Friendly Dental Clinic is designed to create a calm, comfortable, and positive experience for every child, ensuring they receive the best care without the stress.
Children will get a chance to practice for an upcoming dental check-up, touch and interact with the tools and equipment, create a coping plan, play the role of dentist, and meet the staff. Even complete Dental Bingo for a prize!
Benefits of Our Sensory-Friendly Dental Clinic:
Reduced Anxiety: By creating a sensory-sensitive space, we help children feel more in control and less anxious about dental visits.
Positive Dental Habits: Encouraging stress-free experiences promotes lifelong oral health and a positive attitude toward dental care.
Personalized Care: Every child is unique, and our approach is tailored to meet their individual needs and preferences.
These take place on the last Friday of each month in June, July and August.
